Timing is Everything

On its face, gardening — even market gardening — seems simple. Seeds or plants go in the dirt, water is added, and out come delicious vegetables! But there is a rhythm to nature and a great deal of both opportunity and time management on the farmer’s part.

Most of us are familiar with the seasons and how fickle the weather can be, especially in our beautiful Georgia. But grabbing those meteorological windows of opportunity and timing everything from the seasons to crop succession to daily chores is both a science and an art. I don’t claim to be a master of either, but I’m quickly learning and loving every minute of it.
